It all sounds like a mouth full but we focus at least 70% Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Submission Wrestlng. The two most world renowed systems of winning a fight using purely grappling moves starting from your feet and if need be finishing on the ground with a throw, trip, tackle, sweep, choke, armlock, leg lock, or neck crank. Relentless MMA's #1 goal is to teach all of it's memebers how to defend themselves and be able to fight in virtually any situation. With that idea foremost in our minds we went out and found the BEST ways to deal with Grabs, Tackles, Pins, Submissions and Throws. From there we train and compete with each other and in International Competitions with and without the gi, along with in Mixed Martial Arts events where one can punch, kick, knee, elbow, AND Takedown and submit. Along with that the instructors have had real world experiance working as Security in DC and NOVA's Bars and Night clubs, in numerous grappling tournaents and MMA fights and have seen their share of real world violence. We are here to offer a better and more complete way of training. We Relentlessly strive to bring our students the BEST possible instruction so that they can develop as quickly as possible as a Athlete, as a Person and as a Martial Artist.
Submission Grappling Gi and No Gi encompases a wide range of martial Art styles including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, Catch as catch can wrestling, Judo, and Sambo to name a few and is also taught in every branch of our military usually using the term "Ground Fighting Tactics" or "GFT" much the way back in the early 19 hundreds the military used the term "Close Quarter Combat" or "CQC" to address close range, clinching standup fighitng that can easily go to the ground if someone doesn't know how to stop it.
At Relentless MMA we follow the original ideals of all of these sytems and styles were built on. Finishing by submission, defending myself and my loved ones, and self improvement. Every style of combat was developed by people to help them deal with the world as it was and martial arts weather eastern or western all started with that same prinicpal. Finish whenver possible and if you can't finish them at least be able to defend yourself untill you have the chance for escape or to finnaly win, and with this guiding principal each participant must improve. Mentally, and physicaly.
Matt's Combat Submission Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Review
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, developed by the Gracie family and made famous in events like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), is one of the most respected and effective martial arts in the world today. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not based on strength or athleticism; its effectiveness comes from the use of an opponent’s strength, force, and aggression against themselves. The student learns how to use leverage and body positioning to defend themselves in virtually any close-quarters confrontation. Since most real-world confrontations end up on the ground, Jiu-Jitsu concentrates on ground grappling, and the application of chokes, joint locks, pins, and escapes with the most effective leverage-based techniques possible. Its real-world effectiveness has led to its acceptance and implementation by all branches of the U.S. Military, as well as most local and national law enforcement agencies. Through BJJ training, higher levels of fitness, mental focus, and self-confidence can be achieved.
